Microsoft (MSFT) Bing Search Arrives on Xbox One

Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) debuted its Bing web search on Xbox One this week. The following was posted by the Bing Team on Tuesday night:

With Xbox One, we introduced an all-in-one games and entertainment system with sophisticated voice navigation and natural language voice search powered by Bing and Kinect. In addition to combining games, music, and videos on one amazing device, every Xbox One utilizes the power of Bing and Kinect to make it fast, easy and natural to find and play nearly anything you want. Today, as part of the Xbox One system update, we are expanding search to include web results. Now any time you search with “Xbox Bing,” you will receive results from our expansive marketplace as well as relevant items from the web. And when using Internet Explorer, you can now highlight text on the web page then press the menu button to engage Bing search.

Since launch, millions of you have taken advantage of the voice search capabilities of Bing. Shortly after launch we released an update that showcased what you are saying while the search was conducted in parallel. Now you can see how Bing and Xbox understand your voice, for an even more fluid voice search experience.


Shares of Microsoft are lower in early trading Wednesday.
