Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) CEO Steve Ballmer is stirring up Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO) speculation again, speaking at an analyst conference this morning.
Some comments:
CEO Steve Ballmer sees huge opportunity in search, advertising. Wants to have conversation with Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO) management. Ballmer said he doesn't know if a deal will happen with Yahoo!. Wants a way to pool resources with Yahoo to take on Google (Nasdaq: GOOG). Ballmer doesn't want to be known as 'Jerry Yang' on search. Ballmer says it is not realistic it will gain 20% share in search quickly.
Commenting on the economy, Balmer said, "You don't beat it, you mange in this environment." He said the slowdown may affect the company for several years.
This is getting ridiculous... Quit talking Steve and buy Yahoo! already.
