Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is tracking back a little Tuesday as it denied reports of bringing one of its most popular items to one of the most popular mobile devices.
According to the NY Times, earlier reports from The Daily sources said Microsoft might move to bring its Office suite to Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPad tablet. Microsoft has since briefly addressed the reports, issuing the following statement to the Times:
"The Daily story is based on inaccurate rumors and speculation. We have no further comment."
Well, it's not like Microsoft is denying plans to bring Office to the iPad. Right? The Daily just needs better rumor sources, is all.
Shares are up 0.5 percent into the close.
