- The US has to provide a first-class education. The US is falling behind in math and science.
- Investing in innovation, is about investing in people, unlocking their creativity.
- Need to keep an open mind.
- He joked that the first innovation typically fails, but you keep coming and coming and eventually you get it right (perhaps referring to Microsoft's new search engine, Bing).
- Microsoft will have to be tenacious and continue to innovate to compete with Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) in search. Ballmer jokingly suggested that conference attendees should click on a couple ads on the sides of Bing.com.
