Despite not having too much success within the tablet or smartphone market, Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is moving onward and upward. With a smartwatch.
Forbes pointed out Thursday that Microsoft's smartwatch (which we want to name "Watchdows, but that probably won't happen) will synch with Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhones, Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android phones, and, of course, Windows Phones.
Microsoft will tap optical sensor knowledge from its Kinect division, which will implement technology aimed at continuously measuring heart rate.
The Watchdow's battery will run for about two days, similar to that of Samsung's Gear Fit device.
Microsoft's devices will also sport a full-color touchscreen roughly the size of half-a-stick of chewing gum and be shaped similar for the Gear Fit.
Microsoft is up 0.5 percent Thursday.
