V-v-v-vvvv-vv-vegetarian? McDonald's (NYSE: MCD), you shouldn't have!
Evidently, McDonald's is fixing to open up its first all-veggie restaurants in India, which is says is tied to diet preferences in the region.
Current specifications in the region mean that McDonald's doesn't serve beef or pork, with separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian cooking areas.
Offerings in India include the fan-favorite McSpicy Paneer, Maharaja Mac (a Big Mac with chicken patties in place of beef), Filet-O-Fish, and a McVeggie.
McDonald's even has a "Happy Price Menu" in India, which sounds way better than a "Value Menu."
Whether or not the full-on vegetarian concept will cross the seas to the U.S. is undetermined. Our expectation? Probably not going to happen.
Though a McSpicy Paneer sounds fantastic.
Shares of McDonald's are lower in early trading Wednesday.
