Following earlier news that the European Commission (EC) would be conducting a probe into MasterCard (NYSE: MA) over inter-bank fees and related practices, the company issued some brief comments Tuesday morning.
According to an email sent by a MasterCard spokesperson earlier, the company is looking to cooperate with the EC in the probe and "always" aims for fair sharing of card costs.
