October 7, 2008 11:26 AM EDT
Currently, famed investor, Leon Cooperman of Omega Advisors is speaking at the Value Investing Congress. He said the yield curve is positively sloped, meaning that could allow banks to earn decent returns on monies.
Cooperman thinks corporate America is quite liquid and the problem is at the consumer level. Leon did say he thinks a lot of money was "pissed away" on companies repurchasing their stocks. He noted repurchases are a useful tool as long as your stock is undervalued, but he said companies have just buying back stock at the wrong times.
