Las Vegas Sands (LVS) Shareholders 'Selling the News' Following Q4 Loss

Investors in Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS) are "selling the news" this morning, following the company's Q4 earnings report last night. The casino operator announced that it swung to a loss of $0.04 during the quarter, which compares to earnings of $0.07 in Q407. The results also came in about $0.08 lower than the analyst estimate which was looking for a gain of $0.04.
Despite the quarterly loss, shares of Las Vegas Sands initially traded higher last night. The stock surged, but by 5pm ET, price movement had settled to around $4.10, up 6% from yesterday's close. Las Vegas Sands' stock actually opened today's trading session higher, but anxious investors began selling the stock, sending shares to an intraday low of $3.45.
Shares of Las Vegas Sands most recently traded at $3.60, down 9.6% from yesterday's close.
