While all the focus as of late has been on a larger iPhone, most have forgotten about Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) other hardware gem: the iPad.
In a brief sentence from Digitimes made Tuesday, sources said that Apple will be launching a larger, 12-inch display iPad in the second-half of 2014. Quanta Computer will be the OEM tasked with manufacturing the device.
While a larger iPhone is expected to drive sales for Apple in the latter part of 2014, some consumers might have been pining for a larger iPad. Should it come equipped with Apple's rich Retina display, we suspect those on the fence about purchasing the device should be swayed enough to make a move.
No other information on potential specs for the larger iPad was given.
Shares of Apple are up in early trading Wednesday.
