The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the nation's largest and oldest civil rights volunteer-based organization, will join with minority and consumer advocacy groups in a press conference to call on government regulators and Members of Congress to stop the victimization of our community.
At the press conference, the coalition will address the specific concerns of Herbalife's (NYSE: HLF) business practices and why regulators and Members of Congress should investigate the company’s business operations. The groups will then meet with legislators from their home states to discuss their concerns about Herbalife.
The coalition believes that Herbalife uses deceptive business practices to target minority groups, particularly Latinos, with false promises of wealth and success. In reality, the vast majority of Herbalife participants earn no income from the company and most even end up losing money.
