Key BlackBerry (BBRY) Design Exec Hits Exit Amid Turnaround Effort

BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY) ended on a higher note Monday despite news that it lost a key executive made during the afternoon session.
The WSJ reported that BlackBerry VP of User Experience, Don Lindsay, has left the company. He had been with the company since 2008.
News was confirmed by BlackBerry.
Having worked at both Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) and Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), Lindsay was key in designing the BB10 operating system, as well as the 2010 acquisition of The Astonishing Tribe.
BlackBerry CEO John Chen said the company would stick with its QWERTY keyboard roots moving forward and has set his sights on winning over the government and enterprise segments again. Chen has tapped several former colleagues from SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) to fill key roles.
Shares of BlackBerry ended up about 7.8 percent.
