Karen Finerman, hedge fund manager and Fast Money host told viewers today that she shorted shares Simon Property Group (NYSE: SPG). Ostensibly, Karen Finerman is making a play on the commercial real estate market being hurt in this tough economy.
Today, CB Richard Ellis Group (NYSE: CBG), a commercial real estate services frim, fell 25% after reporting drop of 88% in earnings.
Last week, Karen Finerman shorted BB&T Corporation (NYSE: BBT) because she felt the stock has risen too far too fast. Thus far, the BBT trade has gone against Finerman. Finerman does make some good calls, but just be careful and do your own due diligence before jumping in.
