KKR (KKR) Gets 'Mack'-afied with New Senior Advisor Appointment

Private-equity firm KKR & Co. (NYSE: KKR) is about to get a "Mack attack."

The famed firm run by George Roberts and Henry Kravis and founded in part by Jerome Kohlberg has tapped former Morgan Stanley CEO John Mack as a Senior Advisor.

Mack joins the likes of former Caterpillar CEO James Owens and former Bertelsmann co-Chairman Richard Sarnoff, also Senior Advisors. It's almost like a daycare for former execs, with better juice and animal crackers.

Stepping down from the Chairman role at Morgan Stanley after leading the firm as CEO from 2005 through 2010, Mack earned the affectionate nickname "Mack the Knife" for his quick cost-cutting decisions.

Shares of KKR are 1.2 percent better in early Tuesday trading.
