Fox Business Network's Charlie Gasparino reported Monday that JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) will announce its bonuses during the week of January 17, and the bonuses will be "somewhat skimpy."

Gasparino said that the the overall bonus pool has gone up and “some sectors inside the bank have done particularly lousy.”

“From what we understand they are going to be down, particularly in the Investment Bank. Overall the bonus pool has gone up at JPMorgan and at other firms. That why you keep hearing about record bonuses. But there are more people to spread across those bonuses."

Gaspaino added that JPMorgan can be seen as an example for the rest of Wall Street and what is to be expected from other big firms this bonus season.

“We could cover every firm or we could cover one firm kind of is the example for the way the rest of Wall Street is going to go, and that’s JPMorgan.”
