Intuitive (ISRG), Mazor (MZOR) on Watch Following Negative Article

Intuitive Surgical (Nasdaq: ISRG), Mazor Robotics Ltd. (Nasdaq: MZOR), and Accuray Inc. (Nasdaq: ARAY) shares are on watch following a negative outlook on the near-term future of robotic surgery.

Bloomberg has a good write-up about robotic procedures versus less-invasive surgery methods. Notably, most of the commentary centers around high-risks associated with the surgeries and how many patients and families of those lost in botched surgeries are looking to sue companies like Intuitive surgical.

Intuitive is targeted mainly because of the publicity its da Vinci received. The robot is both scary and beautiful at the same time; its several surgical arms look like something out of a futuristic alien film. The company has also been put in the limelight following receipt of an FDA warning letter last July which addressed the company failing to accurately report device corrections and adverse patient affects in some cases.

Traders will be keeping an eye on the trio Tuesday.
