If you watched the big Packers-Lions NFL game on Turkey Day you may have seen an interesting and rare TV ad from Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) promoting its Google+ and "circles."
In the ad, real people talk about how Google+ allows users to share "but like real life" with its circles feature. The ad does a decent job explaining that users can set up special circles for different types of friends - best friends, news friends, soccer friends, work friends, etc.
The ad was interesting but a bit confusing. While the ad may be successful in driving new users to try the service, it will unlikely convince people to migrate away from Facebook.
