Iceland Seizes Its Largest Bank As Banking System Melts Down

The government of Iceland seized the country's largest bank, Kaupthing Bank hf, as the company's banking system continues its rapid meltdown.

Iceland may seek a loan from Russia or the International Monetary Fund to shore-up its system and help guarantee deposits.

The Iceland currency was halted as it was in free-fall on the crisis.
