IBM (IBM) Surges 9% in Pre-Open Trading Following Positive Q4 Preannouncement

IBM (NYSE: IBM) is up nearly 9% in pre-open action following a positive Q4 preannouncement. IBM announced Q4 EPS of $2.80 from continuing operations, up 24% from last year and well above the consensus of $2.60. IBM sees Q4 revenues of $28.9 billion, also well above the consensus of $27.7 billion. IBM cited its global business.

Other US tech companies with global exposure are indicated higher on the IBM news: Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ), Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), Intel (Nasdaq: INTC), Cisco Systems (Nasdaq: CSCO).
