IAC/InterActive (IACI) Ticks Lower as Ashley Madison Data Leak Continues

August 20, 2015 2:31 PM EDT

One company that has seen some mild pressure following the leak of Ashley Madison data is IAC/InterActiveCorp (Nasdaq: IACI).

IAC/InterActive owns such names as Tinder, Match.com, OkCupid, and Twoo. While Tinder requires a Facebook account to login, which may add a layer of protection to personal information, the other sites have their own logins.

According to Reuters on Thursday: Hackers have released a second, larger batch of data stolen from infidelity website AshleyMadison.com's parent company, Vice's online technology site Motherboard reported on Thursday.

Personal information being exposed for Ashley Madison users might cause nervousness among those that are signed up with Match and OkCupid.

Conversely, these sites might see an uptick as users move away from Ashley Madison, though we suspect the user based on AM might be different than that of Match and OkCupid.

Shares of IAC/InterActive are down over 2.5 percent Thursday and are off 4.6 percent for the week. The stock has notably closed lower over the last two trading sessions.
