Here's Where Berkshire (BRK-A)(BRK-B) Should Be Trading Monday

What should Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-A) (NYSE: BRK-B) be trading at today?

Berkshire just announced a buyback plan on Class A and Class B common shares. The release states that the stock with be bought "at prices no higher than a 10 percent premium over the then-current book value of the shares."

At the quarter ended on June 30, 2011, Berkshire reported having a book value of $98,716 per share.

Also, Berkshire's latest quarter noted that transitioning earnings per share from Class A to Class B would be accomplished by dividing Class A earnings by 1,500 to get Class B results.

So, using those two key metrics, Berkshire Class A might trade for as much as $108,587.6 per share, and Class B at $72.39 per share. The numbers represent an 8.2 percent premium to last Friday's closing for $105,583 for it's Class A shares and about 9.1 percent premium for Class B shares, which closed at $66.37.

Book value may have obviously increased or decreased since then. Berkshire reported a 3.4 percent increase in it's second-quarter release.

Berkshire Class A is trading flat, while Class B shares are up over 4 percent Monday morning.
