Herbalife (NYSE: HLF) shares are lower Monday following a negative article in Bloomberg published earlier this morning.
In part, the article highlights retired construction worker, Miguel Calderon, and how he was 'duped' out of $30,000 used to purchase weight-loss shakes from a Herbalife distributor. Calderon made the investment with the intention of selling the product, but found he was unable to do so.
Calderon is said to be one of 16 Latinos in the Chicago area who filed a complaint with the Illinois attorney general.
Calderon noted that he didn't read very much of the agreement or marketing policies Herbalife has in place before he signed on.
