Monday afternoon, the International Trade Commission ruled Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) did not infringe on S3 patents.
S3 was recently acquired by High Tech Computer (HTC) in a $300 million deal, and the results of the litigation have some questioning the move by HTC.
The decision reverses a preliminary ruling which found Apple products violated some of S3's patents involving texture compression.
Following results, Digitimes reported Tuesday HTC might be mulling an appeal of the ruling. HTC will take time to evaluate its options before making the move.
In early July, S3's previous owner, VIA Technologies, won a case against Apple related to S3 graphics patents.
