Google's (GOOG) Schmidt: 1.3M Android Devices Activated/Day, 480M in Use Globally

Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) Eric Schmidt says there are 1.3 million Android activations per day. Of the total, 70,000 are tablets and overall there are 480 million active Android-based devices running globally.

Comments are being made at the Google/Motorola event today in NYC.
