Google (GOOG) Whets Investors Appetites With its New 'Doodle'

In breaking away from the usual, Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) put a new doodle out there today...with a link to a Thanksgiving recipe.
Normally, Google's doodle's (modifications to their logo to celebrate special events) are tasteful and meaningful. Doodle's have ranged from St. Patrick's Day, Einstein's Birthday, an interactive Pac-Man game, and, of course, generic holiday logos. Clicking on the Google Doodle links to a string of Google search results about the topic.
However, many might find today's Google doodle a little different. Upon clicking the cornucopia flourishing from the double-'O' in Google, users are directed to a page on how to cook a turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and more by chef Ina Garten.

Is Google exploring a new revenue stream, or is the hierarchy just a huge fan of "Barefoot Contessa?"
There has long been speculation that Google will start selling ads on the world's most popular homepage. Doing so could create a potential billion dollar windfall for shareholders.
Investors in Google hope that today's doodle is the start of something bigger.
