Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) is cutting some prices of its business cloud platform as it looks to become an more formidable competitor to the likes of Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) and Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN).

Monday, Google said it was lowering prices on its most popular standard Compute Engine instances by 10 percent in all regions. The announcement was made in an official blog post.

Along with the lowered price, Google is adding more features to its cloud offerings, such as 16-core instances and transparent maintenance with live migration technology and automatic restart.

Google, Microsoft, and Amazon are amongst the largest of companies looking to win-over businesses and consumers by offering access to computing power via large data centers, instead of users having to tax their own systems for similar features.

Shares of Google are lower in early trading.
