Google, Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG) is ticking higher late Tuesday amid headlines that the search giant might be in final negotiations with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission over a possible settlement.

According to Bloomberg headlines, CEO Larry Page has met with FTC officials over Google's business practices. An agreement would end a 19-month investigation over claims of search manipulation.

Just a few weeks ago, the FTC was getting testy over continued delays in proposed settlements from Google, putting up somewhat of an ultimatum.

Shares of Google are up about 0.1 percent late Tuesday.
