Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG) is reaching new, multi-year highs Wednesday. Shares ripped to hit $684.59 earlier, a 1.1 percent jump.

The mark is the highest level Google has been since January 2008, when shares reached $686.85 early in the month.

Google was hit earlier in the week by Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) win over Samsung, a key distributor of Google's Android mobile operating system.

Currently, Google is up 0.8 percent, retaining some of the early strength.
