Google (GOOG) Play Music Coming to iOS 'Soon' (AAPL)

Will Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) even need to make a streaming radio app/platform?

Speaking at AllThingsD's D11 conference on Thursday, Google SVP of Android, Chrome, and Apps Sundar Pichai said that Google Play Music will be making its way onto Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iOS "soon." Whether that means next month or sometime over the summer is yet to be determined.

Google previously had gMusic running on iOS via All Access and it also isn't clear whether Google will update that app or create a whole new entity.

Google Play Music allows users to access unlimited streaming music for a monthly fee. Previously, the plan was restricted to Android users and desktop browsers.

With Apple having millions using its iTunes on a daily basis, it would seem that further delays might hamper Apple's ability to convert those users as more and more options surface.

Shares of Google and Apple are both higher on the session.
