Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) isn't the only company looking to start delivering goods via unmanned aircraft.
The WSJ noted Friday that Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) has also begun testing deliveries utilizing drones.
Google's research arm, Google X, said it tested a 5-foot wide, 2.5-foot high, single-wing drone in Australia last month. The UAVs have four propellers and cargo is carried in the middle of the body.
Ultimately, Google plans to have the UAVs flying programmed routes at altitudes of 130 to 200 feet.
It wasn't made immediately clear when, if at all, drone deliveries will commence.
