Today, Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) is trading up 3.05% on news that it is launching a rival browser to Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) Internet Explorer. Google announced in its blog that it will be unveiling Google Chrome sometime today to some 100 countries. Google expects this to be a very powerful browser and will be better capable of handling media intensive applications. The browser provides "improved protection from rogue sites" and "a more
powerful JavaScript engine, V8, to power the next generation of Web
applications that aren't even possible in today's browsers."
I don't know about you, but I am excited to download Google's new browser and, now hopefully, will have less browser crashes!
