Google (GOOG) Gmail Access Restored in China

Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) Gmail is back up and running in China.

After a four-day hiatus, the Financial Times noted that users in China will be able to access their accounts.

Notably, Google said everything was working on its end, leading to the conclusion that China itself blocked access to the email service. China's "Great Firewall" notably blocks out access to many foreign companies, including Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) and Twitter (NYSE: TWTR). It wasn't made clear why China would target Gmail, however.

Google is lower in early trading Tuesday.
