"Can't stop, won't stop, Rocafella Records;
Cause we, we get down baby, we get down baby..."
This is Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) latest theme song, if you count recent Android OS numbers.
According to Andy Rubin -- head of the Android program at Google -- there areabout over 700,000 Android-based devices being activated each day.
CNET quotes Rubin as saying, "for those wondering, we count each device only once (ie, we don't count re-sold devices), and 'activations' means you go into a store, buy a device, put it on the network by subscribing to a wireless service."
Accelerated growth? You bet. Google reported that 400,000 devices were being activated per day last May, then 500,000 in June, and about 550,000 last month.
Google is up 0.5 percent early Wednesday morning.
