Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) said it fired a junior employee and supervisor following a leaked of confidential information from the New York Fed.
Reuters said Thursday that the junior employee passed the information along to the supervisor, whom immediately alerted the firm's compliance board. The supervisor was fired for knowing about the matter, but not escalating it.
The junior employee was previously with the New York Fed and worked at Goldman for only four months.
The information contained insight into some of the New York Fed's private dealings, including details about one of Goldman's clients.
