According to a report in the Detroit Free Press, General Motors (NYSE: GM) is expected to invest $2 billion for the creation of new jobs across eight states.
CEO Dan Akerson is expected to speak at GM's transmission facility in Toledo, OH, which is when plant updates will begin. As many as 400 jobs might be added at the Toledo plant.
GM is expected to update 17 plants in total.
GM shares closed about 1.6 percent lower today.
