General Electric (GE) CFO Sherin to Head GE Capital

June 7, 2013 2:39 PM EDT
General Electric (NYSE: GE) CFO Keith Sherin is set to take the CEO role at GE Capital, according to Dow Jones. He will replace Michael Neal in the role.

Sherin has been CFO at GE since 1998.

Succeeding Sherin will be Jeff Bornstein, currently CFO at GE Capital.

Shareholders have pressured GE CEO Jeff Immelt to separate the operations of GE Capital from its industrial business. With a veteran like Sherin running the unit, Immelt will be able to focus more on bolstering and expanding GE's global infrastructure presence.

Shares of GE are up 1.2 percent Friday.
