GameStop (GME) Falls After Lowering Guidance

August 20, 2009 9:30 AM EDT
In the early market, Gamestop (NYSE: GME) is trading down 8% to $23.16 after reporting poor guidance.

For fiscal 2009, GameStop lowered its diluted earnings per share guidance from the previously communicated range of $2.83 to $2.93 to a range of $2.40 to $2.64, representing annual EPS growth of flat to +10% versus consensus of $2.76.

GameStop is likely having a hard time competing as consumers are looking to save money and, therefore, less likely to spend money on games.
