Friday's 'hot' IPOs Marketo, Inc. (NASDAQ: MKTO) and Tableau Software Inc (NASDAQ: DATA) have more reasons to smile Monday.
After rising 78% from its IPO pricing of $13 per share on Friday, Marketo is up another 11.26% today - for a total gain of 98%. Tableau Software is up another 9.8% today after rising 64% from its $31 per share pricing Friday - a total gain of 80%.
The two hot IPO are in perhaps the two hottest sectors for investors - cloud and big data.
Marketo is a provider of a leading cloud-based marketing software platform that enables organizations to engage in modern relationship marketing. Marketo generated revenue of $14.0 million, $32.4 million and $58.4 million in 2010, 2011 and 2012, respectively, representing year-over-year increases of 131% and 80%, respectively. They had net losses of $11.8 million, $22.6 million and $34.4 million in 2010, 2011 and 2012, respectively, due to increased investments in our growth.
Tableau Software helps people see and understand data. Tableau Software generated revenue of $34.2 million, $62.4 million and $127.7 million n 2010, 2011 and 2012, respectively, representing a compound annual growth rate of approximately 93% from 2010 to 2012.. The company also generated net income of $2.7 million, $3.4 million and $1.6 million for the years ended December 31, 2010, 2011 and 2012, respectively, and have generated positive cash from operating activities on an annual basis in each of those fiscal years.
