December 17, 2014 11:50 AM EST

Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) is on watch following the launch of a platform that aims to rival YouTube.

Reports out Wednesday have former Hulu CEO Jason Kilar launching Vessel, which is a video subscription service geared towards viewers of YouTube starts and other Internet personalities. The platform will also aggregate video content from such sites as CollegeHumor, Buzzfeed, and Funny or Die.

Actor Alec Baldwin is also said to have signed on for a series called Love Ride, which will have the former 30 Rock actor dishing out advice to couples during, you guessed it, a taxi ride.

Vessel will launch in early 2015 with an ad-supported free version, or $2.99 per month subscription service.

Shares of Google are positive Wednesday.
