The Ford (NYSE: F) Focus, one of America's most beloved small cars, has hit a new milestone in Russia.
According to data from the Dearborn, MI-based automaker, the Focus hit the 500,000 unit milestone in Russia this month. The number is a massive increase from the 47 sold in Russia when the Focus was launched in 1999.
Though the news is good, sales of the Focus slipped and haven't been able to regain its former glory. From sales of 97,060 in 2007, that number slipped to 67,041, a level not seen since 2005.
But with the new Focus model expected to roll-out in Russia in June, it may provide just enough juice to pump up sales moving forward.
Ford shares are trading 1.3 percent lower ahead of the market open Monday.
