First Solar (FSLR) Spikes Higher Today For Several Reasons

First Solar (Nasdaq: FSLR) is up over 9% today or 16 points today after the stock sold off from a high of $230. First Solar is still seen as one of the leading companies to lead the alternative energy boom. Mad Money host, Jim Cramer is a big fan of First Solar and as he continues to talk about it on air, expect to see further increases in FSLR's stock price.

Today, Broadview initiated a Buy rating on First Solar with a price target $224. Yesterday, American Technology lifted their rating of First Solar (FSLR) to "buy" from "neutral" and a $275 price targer

First Solar designs and manufactures solar modules using a thin film semiconductor technology. The Company manufactures its solar modules on high-throughput production lines. Its solar modules employ a thin layer of cadmium telluride semiconductor material to convert sunlight into electricity.
