December 16, 2013 12:57 PM EST
If you thought the idea and execution of a vending machine for gold was crazy, you'll never guess what just popped up in Europe.

That's right, a bitcoin ATM.

According to Bittiraha.fi, the first bitcoin ATM has arrived in Finland at the Helsinki Railway Station. The blog notes that about 200,000 people walk through the halls of the railway station each day.

While some still question the validity of bitcoin, more items like this popping up around the globe should draw more positive interest to the virtual currency.

Bitcoin is lower today, last trading around $737 from highs above $850 last Friday.
