Fed Won't Comment On Rumors of Another Discount Rate Hike
There are rumors going around that the Federal Reserve will again raise the rate on the discount window. In February, the Fed raised the rate from 1/2 percent to 3/4 percent. Now rumors are they will raise it back to 1.
The Federal Reserve would not comment on the rumors, according to a headline from Reuters.
The discount rate is often refereed to as the emergency rate, and is not as important as the Federal Funds rate which is still at 0.00%-0.25%.
