Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) could be making its site much more user friendly with its next update: editing.
Half the fun of going on Facebook is posting messages and responses to photos and comments about daily life or events -- whether at 3pm on a Tuesday or 3am Saturday morning following an extensive bar crawl. The other half is reading said comments.
Now Facebook might allow users to edit comments on posts they've made. Prior to the update, posts could only be deleted and re-posted, sending multiple email messages to users and causing them to probably turn off some alerts.
It's not clear whether the person with the original post will be able to edit comments, but we're thinking not. They'll still only be able to delete comments (a feature which should be disabled).
But in a very Jerry Springer-like twist, Facebook said the edit history will be viewable to everyone on the comment. That should be fun.
Shares of Facebook are stronger Friday, up 2.9 percent early.
