Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) is said to be testing two new features for mobile users: multiple news feeds and a marketplace.
According to The Verge, Facebook will supplement the main News Feed with feeds like Travel, Style, and Headlines. The company has already begun working to sort posts from people that users follow into different categories.
One spokesperson for the company said, People have told us they'd like new options to see and have conversations about more stories on Facebook around specific topics they're interested in [...] So we are testing feeds for people to view different stories from people and Pages based on topic areas.
Facebook has also been testing a marketplace section -- tentatively called Shopping -- since October this year. The Shopping icon is said to replace the Messenger icon on Facebook's iOS app.
Shares of Facebook are lower in early trading following a 1.3 percent close higher Tuesday.
