Facebook (FB) Messenger App Meets, Exceeds 700M User Mark

Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) Messenger app was said to surpass 700 million users, according to commentary from CEO Mark Zuckerberg during the company's annual meeting on Thursday might.

The number is up from 600 million users reported at the end of March, according to Re/code. The platform has grown by over 200 million users the last seven months.

Messenger could be a big part of Facebook as it moves to integrate more features, like a shopping service or ride-share feature.

Shares of Facebook are down 0.3 percent.
