Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) is off of intraday highs following presentation of its new News Feed layout Thursday afternoon. The social media giant said that users will still be able to get content they care about, but with a whole new look added.
Facebook commented: We've completely rebuilt each story to be much more vibrant and colorful and highlight the content that your friends are sharing. Photos, news articles, maps and events all look brighter and more beautiful.
Several new Feeds will also debut:

All of the feeds will be available on desktop and mobile versions.
It's not clear how the new layout will impact ad sales, if at all. Given the more robust content expected in the Feed, advertisers might be able to get a little more social with their campaigns and target a more specific demographic to boot, given the new data that Facebook will collect from users.
In some respects, the new layout hints a little at what Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) is trying to do with its Google+ site and the 'circles' initiative.
Shares of Facebook are up 2.8 percent in afternoon trading.
