Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) might be looking to "map" out its future with a new acquisition.
According to reports, Facebook is in discussions with mobile-driving application Waze, potentially leading to $1 billion or more acquisition.
Waze is a crowd-sourced driving app with more than 50 million users globally. The app offers driving directions based on input from members. It is helpful for avoiding traffic tie-ups and also functions as a social network, with users able to send each other messages. It has offices in Palo Alto, CA, and Israel.
Facebook is up modestly, but well off of session highs.
