Facebook's (FB) App Environment Continues Dominating Social Scene - GWI

Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) has a strong presence by itself, but its four main platforms only serve to bolster the social media giant's standing among online adults.

GlobalWebIndex noted Wednesday that about 84 percent of Internet users have an account either at Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, or WhatsApp. Notably, the 16-to-24-year-old age group boasts a 90 percent rate of being on at least one of Facebook's services. Data also shows that about 72 percent of adults from 55 to 64 also have an account with one of the services.

This isn't just data from the U.S. alone; Facebook also has an 80-percent-plus adoption rate in multiple global markets from Brazil to Vietnam.

Shares of Facebook are up 0.7 percent Wednesday.
