Is the tablet already passé? According to one report, the answer could be "yes."
Global Web Index conducted a recent survey. The firm found that around 45 percent of online adults globally now own a tablet and about 35 percent use the device to get online. Despite the usage and ownership, only 4 percent view a tablet as their "most important" device. The number moves to 11 percent for tablet owners specifically.
However, the low results could present a growth problem for the segment. Things appear saturated and there's little demand for the product with the consumer, though there still may be a robust market with enterprise customers.
